Negative Prompt

You can specify objects, styles, ideas which you do NOT want to see by adding them as keywords to the Negative Prompt field. The Negative Prompt can be found under the Advanced section.

The Negative Prompt field under Advanced

Example

Take the following image for example:

Prompt: "Isometric, cozy modern cabin interior minimalistic look, cutaway architecture, render, cute, pixar"

This cozy isometric studio looks nice, but it would be better if it wasn't so gray! Let's try and fix that:

Prompt: "Isometric, cozy modern cabin interior minimalistic look, cutaway architecture, render, cute, pixar"

Negative Prompt: "gray paint"

Much better, notice how even the background changed colors since white is closer to gray than yellow. Here's another example:

Prompt: "Portrait photo of a female army soldier during ww1"

Prompt: "Portrait photo of a female army soldier during ww1"

Negative Prompt: "black and white, monochrome"

As you can see, negative prompts are very powerful and can completely transform how an image looks with just a few words.

Negative Styles

Apart from regular prompts, you can also use Negative embeddings to potentially enhance the final result. These embeddings can be added from the Negative Embeddings menu which can be opened by clicking on the Styles button.

Model Preferences and Negative Prompts

Negative Styles are also affected by Model Preferences, as certain models might yield better results with specific negative prompts. If Model Preferences is enabled, switching between models may adjust these prompts for optimal performance. Turning off Model Preferences or manually adjusting the negative prompts will disable this feature.
